Donald Ray Smith

Donald Ray "Donnie" Smith, 70, of Sequatchie, Tennessee, received his complete healing on Wednesday, November 13, 2025.

Donnie was born to Balaam and Eleanor Rogers Smith and was one of a large, close-knit family. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers John, Willard, J.B., William, Leroy, Billy Joe, Ben, Isaac, Samuel, and Raymond Smith; and his sister, Alma Vance.

Donnie will be remembered most for his kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering faith in God. He carried a quiet strength that made people feel safe, loved, and understood. He was a wonderful husband to his devoted wife, Donna Layne Smith, and a great father to his son, Daniel Ray Smith. His greatest joy, however, came from being "Pawpaw" to his precious granddaughter, Veda Lynn Smith, who brightened every corner of his life.

He is also survived by his siblings Clifford, Earnest, and Mack Smith, and Irene McAlpin; his brother-in-law, Eddie Layne; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Donnie will always remember the warmth of his heart, the steadiness of his faith, and the love he gave so freely.

A celebration of life service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Central Time, Saturday, November 22nd at Victory Baptist Church.
