Donald Ray Troy, 65, of Lookout Valley, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020.
Donald Ray Troy was a special man and wore many hats. He was a natural entertainer and loved people. He was a friend to all he met. He would light up a room with his presence. As a child he was fearless, strong and all around boy next door. He was my Peter Pan as he was always able to live life to the fullest. He loved his wife, his children, his family and automobiles. He was a car enthusiast, and went to many car shows through the years. He loved working at Sequatchie Concrete as a block truck driver. He often talked about going on deliveries with Poky Van Allman. He was close to his brother-in-law, Dennis Nelson, and spoke of him often and their life in Battle Creek. He often said "He/We had the best childhood a kid could have and, I agree. He was my hero and there will never be another Donnie Troy! The last years of his life because of dementia, Donnie became a member of Alexian Brothers Pace Program family and I would like to extend a personal thank you to all the staff and special thanks to Boo Boo and Ms. Patricia that became our friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Troy and Mrytle Anderson Troy Hatfield; sister, Betty Troy Henderson; brother-in-law, Micky Henderson.
Survivors include his wife Alfreda Payne-Troy, brother, David (Reva) Troy; Children, Angel Rae (Keith) Troy Findley ; son, John William "Bubba" Troy; step children, Jamey Troutman, Richard (Alisha)Troutman, Daniel (Elisabeth)Troutman; grandchildren, Ashlynn Findley, Brooklynn Findley, Abby Troutman, Libby Troutman, James David Troutman, Annabelle Troutman, Rachel Troutman, Gabby Troutman, Samuel Troutman, Lucy Troutman, Michael Troutman; great grandchild, Derek Shavers; many cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.
The family will have visitation on Sunday, November 22, 2020 from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. (CST) at Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg, TN; 400 Laurel Ave. South Pittsburg, TN.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. (CST) on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in the funeral home chapel following the visitation. Officiating will be Pastor Kenny Green and Pastor Joe Moore.
