Doris June Reeves, age 72 of Opelika, Alabama, died on September 7, 2011 at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, Alabama.

Born on February 19, 1939 in South Pittsburg, Tennessee to the late Eddie Glen and Annie Mae Knight Neal, she was a school teacher for 35 years and loved to read.

Mrs. Reeves was preceded in death by her husband, Merrion L. Reeves.

She is survived by her daughter, Merri Lynn Reeves Gregory and husband David; three grandchildren, Brighton Lynn, Braden Reeves, and Brylee Ruthanne Gregory.

Graveside Services will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport, Alabama at 3:30 pm, with Reverend David Gregory officiating.

Visitation will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Tennessee from 2:00 until 3:00 pm.

A visitation will be held on in Opelika, Alabama on Thursday, September 8, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Fredericks Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Beulah Elementary School Library.
