Mrs. Dorothy A. Newcom, 90, of Jasper, TN died in a local hospital on Thursday, March 01, 2012. Daughter of the late Hubert and Martha Crow Webb, Mrs. Newcom was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church and was a clerk at Simpson's Store for 22 years before she retired in 1985. Mrs. Newcom was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Newcom and her sister, Gertie Webb. She is survived by her sons, Edward (Deborah) Newcom of Jasper and William "Bill" (Carol) Newcom of Jasper, TN; grandsons, Timothy Newcom, Rusty Newcom, Eric Newcom and Michael Newcom; sisters, Virginia Haynes of South Pittsburg, TN and Bertie Harvey of Fort Payne, AL; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 2pm Central time with Reverend Roger Webb officiating. Interment will follow in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, March 3rd from 5-8pm Central time at the funeral home.
