Dorris Yvonne Caves Bowlin, 60, of Jasper, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center after being diagnosed with leukemia three weeks ago.

Born April 7, 1959 to the late John Wesley & Willie Sue Griffith Caves, she was a 1977 graduate of Marion County High School and a member of Jasper First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Rainbow Girls (Olive Branch Lodge) and had been active in the Girl Scouts. She worked for many years alongside her parents at Caves Quik Check in Jasper and also worked at Mobile Hospital in Mobile, Alabama and for the State of Tennessee Drivers License division in Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Robert F. & Lettie Pittman Griffith and Dillard & Loula Gothard Caves; great-grandparents, Daniel Ephraim & Martha Pittman, John & Viola Lawson Griffith, James LaFayette & Ida Gothard, John Hope & Lucy Jane Hester Caves; step-son, Kyle Bowlin; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Bowlin; daughter, Angelia Lauren (John Paul) Deal; sons, Robert Charles Wesley Arnold and Colton Edward (Aureleia) Bowlin; stepsons, Tim Bowlin and Tyler Bowlin; sister, Kristi Griffith Caves (Herb, Jr.) Thomasson; former daughter-in-law, Melissa Arnold; seven grandchildren, Braidon, Caleb, Ashton, and MaKayla Deal and Hannah, Megan, and Alyssa Arnold; very special uncle and aunt, Bobby & Dorris Griffith Ross; nephews, Daniel Buckner and Jonathan Buckner; and several cousins.

A graveside service will be conducted at Caroline Chapel Cemetery in Whitwell, Tennessee at 5:00 p.m. Central time on Friday, June 14, 2019 with Rev. John Smith and Tracy Ferguson officiating. Pallbearers will be Joe Spangler, Lee Spangler, John Griffith, Daniel Buckner, Jonathan Buckner, and Roy Curtis.

There will be no public visitation.
