Earline Green Ross, 88, of Jasper, TN died Friday, December 4, 2015 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.
The daughter of the late Robert Preston and Leila Maude Stallings Green, she was a native of York, Alabama. She received her Bachelor's degree from Livingston State Teachers College, her Master's degree from MTSU and her Masters Plus 45 from Tennessee Tech. She was a retired teacher, coordinator and Principal with the Marion County Board of Education having taught for 35 years, including 5 years in Alabama. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority, the Retired Teachers Association and First Baptist Church in Jasper where she taught the Gleaners Sunday School Class for 60 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edsel Logan and her sister, Bessie Green Simpson.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, D. W. Ross of Jasper, TN; son, David P. Ross of Rome, GA; sister, Clara Jean (Ed) Stallings of Cuba, AL; sister-in-law, Sandra Logan of Ringgold, GA; brothers-in-law, Lamar (Mary Lou) Ross of Toomsuba, MS and Bobby (Dorris) Ross of Jasper, TN; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at First Baptist Church in Jasper on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at 3:00pm Central time with Rev. Greg Steele, Rev. Mark Cosby, Rev. David Grisham and Sarah McGrew Faires officiating. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, December 5th from 7-9 pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper and on Sunday, December 6th from 1:00 pm until service time at First Baptist Church in Jasper.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Benevolence Fund at First Baptist Church, Jasper or to the Jasper Middle School Library.
