Mrs. Emily Bullen Hornsby, formerly of Jasper, Tennessee, passed away in Birmingham, Alabama on Monday, August 5, 2019.

A native of High Springs, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Russell and Edna Joyce McDonnell Bullen. Mrs. Hornsby enjoyed a longtime career as a nurse. She lived in Jasper for many years before moving to Birmingham. She was always there for her family, even taking time off from her job to care for them when needed.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, James Lavins Hornsby, Jr., son, Warren Thomas Hornsby, and an infant daughter, Emily Claire Hornsby.

She is survived by a son, James "Jim" Lavins Hornsby, III.

A graveside service will be conducted 3:00 PM, central time, at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper with the Reverend Joey Manis officiating.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 PM, central time, at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.
