Mr. Ernest Buford Kilgore, 78, of Jasper, TN died in a Chattanooga hospital on December 8, 2010.
The son of the late Walter and Mae Murphy Kilgore, he retired as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army after over 21 years of active service, including five years served in Vietnam. Mr. Kilgore was also active in the Eastern Star, the Olive Branch Masonic Lodge #297 F & AM and the Alhambra Shrine. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Kilgore, son, Greg Kilgore and brothers, James, Luther and Richard Kilgore.
Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Miller; sons, Steve Kilgore, Dennis Kilgore and Gordon Kilgore; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Thower and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper from 5 - 8pm CST on Sunday, December 12, 2010, with a Masonic memorial service starting at 7:30pm.
Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper at 11am CST on Monday, December 13, 2010 with Rev. Jerry Wells officiating. Committal service will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery at 1pm CST.
