Foster Potter, 86, of New Hope, TN died Friday, January 1, 2010 in a local hospital.
He was born in Whiteside, TN on December 5, 1923, a son of the late Johnnie Lindsay and Rachel Nervy Elizabeth Gray Potter. He worked as a crop and dairy farmer, coal miner and for many years as a restaurant cook for Romines Fish Market. Prior to his retirement, he was employed with United States Stove Company. He was dedicated to God, country, family and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Romines Potter; grandson, Leon Potter; parents, Johnnie Lindsay & Rachel Nervy Elizabeth Gray Potter; brothers, Harlis Daniel Potter, George Kelly Potter, John William Potter and Andrew Paul Potter; grandparents, John & Hannah Bridget Nelson Potter and John & Sarah Elizabeth West Gray.
Survivors include his children, Johnny Potter, Glenda Eagle and Paul Potter; grandchildren, Dallon Foster Potter, Nichole Madalee Potter, Richard Mathew Potter, Paul Guess, Larry Guess, Jane Potter Wells; great-grandchildren, Tanner Drake Potter, Kali Xavin Guess, Bonnie Lillian-Louise Guess, D'Artangnan Eric Guess, Tara Marie Guess, Makayla Darlene Potter, Bree Ailene Potter, Chelsey Lynn Wells and Ryan Dakoda Wells; step-great-grandchildren, Bayli Royer and Blayne Royer.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Monday, January 4, 2010 at 1:00pm CST with Rev. John Peardon and Vernon Coffman officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 3-7pm CST on Sunday, January 3 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
