Estelle Durham Smith, 91, formerly of South Pittsburg, TN died at the home of her granddaughter in Summerfield, FL on Wednesday, April 13, 2011.

The third of eight children born to the late Charlie Hope and Fannie Lee Reeves Durham, she was a long-time member of Antioch Baptist Church in New Hope, TN. A native of the New Hope Community in South Pittsburg, she spent 16 years in Hazel Park, Michigan, then returned to the South Pittsburg area in the late 1970s. Following the death of Woodrow Smith, her husband of 43 years, she moved to Belleview, Florida where she spent the last 20 years of her life.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Roxie Durham Smith, son-in-law, Larry Cunningham and brother, Leonard Durham.
She is survived by children, Vicki (Gary) Gott of Belleview, Ernest (Rose) Smith of Whitwell, TN, Catherine Cunningham of Fort Worth, TX and David (Linda) Smith of Jasper, TN; grandchildren, Dennis Adams of Royal Oak, MI, Sheila Ullery of Summerfield, FL, Gary Smith of Knoxville, Beverly Smith Lockhart of Whitwell and Emily Smith Cameron of Houghton Lake, MI; eight great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Christine Price of South Pittsburg, Elma Sue Pellam of Albertville, AL and Opal Lehr of Tampa, FL; brothers, Houston (Alma) Durham and Melton Durham both of South Pittsburg, TN; several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 2-9pm Central time on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.

Funeral Services will be conducted from Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, TN at 11am Central time on Monday, April 18, 2011 with Reverends Paul D. Smith and Owen Durham officiating. Interment will be in New Hope Cemetery.
