Mrs. Ethel McBee Rector, 90, of South Pittsburg, died Sunday, April 30, 2006 at her home. The daughter of the late Joe Conn and Hettie Headrick McBee, she was preceded in death by her husband, James S. Rector; son, David Autley Rector; sister, Bertha Whitmire; two half-sisters and one step-sister. She is survived by her children, Mary Louise Payne of Chattanooga, Raymond Rector of Bridgeport, James E. Rector of Whitwell, Shirley Hibbs of South Pittsburg, Calvin Joe Rector of Crossroads, Evelyn Faye Calhoun of Destin, FL, Roy Lee Rector of Spring City, TN, Douglas Wayne Rector of Jacksonville, FL; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the south Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 3, 2006 at 1 PM CDT with Rev. Harley Morrison officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 5-9 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
