Mrs. Ettie Bell Hicks Brown, age 88 of Guild, TN died at a local nursing home on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
The daughter of the late Robert and Emma Hicks, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, James Millard Brown; five brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her son, Randall M. Brown and his wife, Sandra L. Brown of Powell's Crossroads, TN; daughter, Wanda Brown Janeway of Chattanooga, TN; grandson, Alton Janeway and his wife, Coleen Janeway of Jersey City, NJ; granddaughters, Jennifer L. Horn and her husband, Jeffrey L. Horn of Guild and Dr. Rochelle K. Parks and her husband, Joseph L. Parks of Dunlap, TN; grandson, Alex R. Brown and his wife, Andrea A. Brown of Chattanooga; and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown had been a member of the Guild First Baptist Church since 1951. She was very active in the Guild community, including assisting with the Marion County Board of elections and with the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 10AM CDT. The interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
The visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 5PM - 9PM, Central time.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Haletown Volunteer Fire Department in her name.
