Obituary

On Saturday, March 4, 2006, Eula Roberson Beene stepped across the threshold we call death, but it was only a step into another room and not a stepping out of the fellowship of life. It was but a stepping into one of the other rooms of our Father's house, out of self, into Christ, into Glory. Mother Beene took these, the first two steps in life and lived a beautiful life. Now she has taken the third step where there is no more weeping, no pain, no sorrow, no disappointment.Born to Benny and Amanda Roberson on the 31st of July, 1913 in Victoria, TN, Eula Roberson began her journey through life. She was educated in the public school system of Marion County. She was united in marriage to Mancel Beene and to that union was born two daughters. Eula left Tennessee early in life and relocated to Pontiac, Michigan where she was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She worked in nursing homes and with mentally challenged children and adults. In 1973, she relocated back to Jasper, TN where she was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mancel Beene; brothers, Marshall Roberson and Howard Roberson; sisters, Millie New, Vera Gowdy and Etta Roberson. She is survived by daughters, Alvina Cowart and Hilda Singleton both of Pontiac, Michigan; three sisters, Margaret Alexander, Ruby Liddell and Bernice (Terry) Hill all of Pontiac, Michigan; brother, Paul Roberson of Jasper, TN; twelve grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted from New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Jasper at 12:00 noon CST, with Rev. Armond Collins and Rev. Clifford Parris officiating. Interment was in Anderson Cemetery. So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right here in your heart.
