Evan E. Millard, age 80, died Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home.
Evan was a native of Chattanooga, TN, but lived for several years in Orlando, FL and Dickson, TN before moving near his son, Guy, in South Pittsburg, TN.
He was a branch manager of Redisco, Inc., a subsidiary of American Motors Corporation for many years in Chattanooga. He later retired as Vice-President of Operations from SunCorp in Orlando, FL. He was a veteran of the US Air Force with service in Korea; a member of American Legion Post 5 in Nashville, TN and National VFW Post 15044. He was a Freemason and member of Masonic Lodge #430 F&AM in Chattanooga, TN. He attended Bridgeport High School, the University of Alabama, and the University of Chattanooga. Evan was also a freelance writer and enjoyed spending much of his time doing genealogy work and photography.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ann Hembree Millard in 2007; his parents, James A. and Esther Carroll Millard of Bryant, AL; two brothers, Bernard S. Millard of Chattanooga, TN and David A. Millard of Bryant.
He is survived by four children, Guy A. Millard of South Pittsburg, TN, Lisa G. Millard of Clarkston, GA, Kevin E. (Edineia) Millard of Brazil, Tracy K. (Wayne) Frank of Goshen, OH; two brothers, James L. (Vonda) Millard of Chattanooga, TN and Merrill (Joy) Millard of Canton, GA; six grandchildren, Aimee Millard, Travis Millard, Deborah Millard, Stephen Millard, Kathleen Frank and Nicholas Frank.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 2pm Eastern time at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, where Evan will join his beloved wife, Ann, to continue their journey together. His son, Rev. Kevin E. Millard and his brother, Merrill Millard will officiate.
