Obituary

Forrester Webb Rogers, 75, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 14, 2021, at his home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Upon graduation from Middle Tennessee State University in 1967, he began his long and distinguished career of forty-seven years as a CPA and partner at Thompson, Rogers, and Williams. After leaving public accounting, Forrester worked in the accounting department of Gentry Chevrolet until he retired in 2020.

As a young man, he was a member of the Greater Jasper Jaycees and Jasper Volunteer Fire Department. Forrester was a 50-year member of the Olive Branch Marion Lodge #297 F&AM, and Scottish Rite, having been raised in 1971.

As a life-long member of the Jasper First Baptist Church, Forrester served as Treasurer and Deacon Emeritus.

Forrester was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Maudie Rogers, and his brothers, John Ed Rogers and Joe Billy Rogers. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Judy Morrison Rogers; children, Jill Rogers Foster of Raleigh, NC and Matthew Rogers (Nicole); beloved grandchildren, Webb Foster and Catherine Foster; brother, Thomas Earl Rogers; niece, LaNea Fraker (David); and cousins, Rosie Joels Gamble and Tom Joels.

Visitation is Thursday, February 18, 2021, at Jasper First Baptist Church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. CST and will include a Masonic Ceremony at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service is Friday, February 19, 2021, at Jasper First Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. CST with Pastor Greg Steele officiating.

Pallbearers are Derek Adkins, Jim Blevins, Mark Bruning, Tom Joels, Wayne Long, Brandon May, Cory Merrell,  Kevin Merrell,  Warren Quarles.

Honorary Pallbearers  include Louis Anderson, Don Adkins, Jay Blevins,  Paul Wayne Evans,  Herb Gravitt, Larry Gravitt,  Marie Halvorsen, and  Skip Phillips.

Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Garden.
