Obituary

Mr. Lee Shaffer, 80, passed away on Monday, October 8, 2007 in a Chattanooga Hospital.He was the founder and original owner of the Quik Chek supermarket in Jasper for 22 years and was a member of the Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Ruth Berkey Shaffer, two sisters and three brothers.He is survived by his wife, Jo Dean Shaffer of Jasper; brother, Sherman Shaffer of Pennsylvania; six children, Craig (Nancy) Shaffer of Chicago, IL, April (James) Cordell of East Ridge, TN, Mark (Rachael) Shaffer of Millersburg, PA; grandchildren, Benjamin Craig Shaffer, Jr. of Boston, Mass., Timothy Lee Shaffer of Chicago, IL, Crystle Lee (Lance) Elam of LaFayette, GA, James Hunter Cordell of East Ridge, Austin and Hayden Shaffer of Millersburg, PA; great-grandchildren, Harrison and Houston Vinett; sons, Doug (Joyce) Little and Rick (Bobbie) Kennamer all of Franklin, TN; grandchildren, Joseph Paul (Jennifer) Little of Spring Hill, TN, Gordon Berry of Phoenix, AL, Erica (Ryan) Vinett of Nashville, Clayton Kennamer of Franklin, TN and Patrick Kennamer of Phoenix, AZ.Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 10, 2007 at 11 AM CST with Reverend Cecil Baxter officiating. Pallbearers will be Hoyt Ridge, Jim Sexton, Benny Don Quarles, John Cummings, Joe Suffridge and Bill Smith.The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 6-9 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.
