Freddie Louis Hale, of Jasper, Tennessee, affectionately called "Bud" by his family and friends, died Sunday, March 26, 2017 at the age of 83.
Born on February 22, 1934 in Jasper, Tennessee, he served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was employed by Wheland Foundry, and then changed employment to work as a boilermaker for TVA where he retired after 30 years of service. During his retirement, Fred enjoyed driving a school bus for his friend, Hershel Westmoreland, cutting wood and gardening. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was also a dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, superintendent of Sunday School, and as the church treasurer, where he kept the church records like a CPA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred John Henry Hale and Johnnie Mae Kendrick Hale; brother, Dennis Hale; sisters, Sarah Lee Hale Pickett and Mary Elizabeth Patrick; son, David A. Hale; daughters, Phoebe J. Hale and Sandra Harmon; and son-in-law, Darrell O'Neal.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Alline Pryor Hale of Jasper, Tennessee; daughter, Abbie Hale Walker O'Neal of Jasper; son, Albert Labron Harmon, Sr. of Flint, Michigan; grandsons, Albert L. Harmon, Jr. of Flint, Michigan, Louis A. Walker of Jasper; granddaughters, India J. Harmon of Jasper, Ashlie C. Harmon of Flint, Michigan; great-granddaughters, Liberty S. Rogers and Nyssa A. Harmon; sister, Naomi (William) Pickett; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at New Hope Baptist Church in Jasper, on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 1:00pm Central time with Pastor George Green, officiating. Interment with full military honors provided by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard will be in Anderson Cemetery in Jasper, TN following the service.
The family will receive friends for visitation at the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, March 31st from 10:00am - 8:00pm Central time and on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until service time at the church.
