Freddy Joe Gibson, 67, of South Pittsburg, TN died Saturday, February 20, 2009 at his daughter's home in Hartselle, AL.The son of the late Spurgeon Walter and Hazel Eldora Grimes Gibson, he retired after 30 years with the South Pittsburg Water and Gas Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Rose Murray Gibson.Survivors include his daughters, Margaret Anne Smith of South Pittsburg and Donna Perry of Hartselle, AL; mother-in-law, Rosie Bratcher; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, James W. Gibson of South Pittsburg; sisters, Wilma Bilbrey and Linda Poe both of Crossville, TN; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel on Wednesday, February 25th at 2 PM CST. Interment will be in Gilliam Cemetery.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5-9 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Rogers Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
