Gary "Dale" Higdon, 72, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee passed away Thursday, December 19, 2024.

Dale was a police officer since 1974. He was an officer for the Marion County Sheriff Police Department for 35 years and Police Chief for the South Pittsburg Police Department.  He was a country boy all his life, a South Pittsburg High School graduate of the Class of 1972, a South Pittsburg Pirate fan, Tennessee Volunteer fan, Colts fan since Payton, Native American by blood and by choice, Southern born and Southern bred by the grace of God.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Higdon Jr. and Bonnie Brown Higdon, Brothers, Buddy Higdon and David Higdon and sister, Linda Anderson.

Survivors include his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda Wynne Higdon; sisters, Judy Miles and Jean Powell; sons, Gary (Dana) Higdon, Sherman Higdon; daughters Crystal Hansard, Christina Case; son, Kevin (Gina) Case; daughter, Amanda Case; son, Wesley Case; several grandchildren and great grandchildren, a special friend Jeff Stephens and many friends.

The family will plan a memorial service at a later date for family and friends.
