George David Jackson, Sr., 82, of Kimball, Tennessee, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at Signature Healthcare of South Pittsburg after a battle with Parkinson's and dementia.

He was a native of Sherwood, Tennessee and has lived in Kimball since 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie L. & Elizabeth Stubblefield Jackson and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jesse & Laila Powell.

He was an Elder in the Kimball Church of Christ for 38 years and retired from U.S. Stove Company after being employed there for 55 years. He enjoyed making things from wood, loved gardening and his apple trees. He loved the church, the Lord, and the Bible most of all.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Marie Powell Jackson; daughter, Ruth Jackson (Greg) Rowe; son, David (Melissa) Jackson, Jr.; grandson, Robby Jackson; great-grandsons, Grayson and Gabriel Jackson; sister-in-law, Peggy Brown; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Kimball Church of Christ at 2:00 p.m. Central time on Friday, August 2, 2019 with Rusty Hargis and Jimmy Holtzclaw, officiating. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tennessee. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of the Kimball Church of Christ and the employees of U.S. Stove Company.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. central time on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the funeral home and from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. central time at the church on Friday.
