George King

April 7, 1933 – March 18, 2022

George King, 88, of New Hope, TN, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.

George was a United States Army Veteran.

He retired from TVA Racoon Mountain as an iron worker.  He enjoyed working on his farm and raising cattle;  but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Thomas King, Sr, and Julia Sparkman King; brothers, Charles Thomas King, Jr, James E. King, Walter A. (Buddy) King, Crawford L. King, Gerald D. King, John Marshall; sisters, Willie Mae Collins, Martha Frances Durham, Edna Ruth Kennemore

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris Blevins King; children, Keith (Cathy) King, Jan (Danny) Culpepper, Lisa (Tim) Howard, all of New Hope, Bridget (Glenn) Travis, of Dutton, AL; thirteen grandchildren, seven great – grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. (CST) at the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home of South Pittsburg.

Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. (CST) and on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.

Pallbearers will be Matthew King, Ethan Culpepper, Kyle Howard, Tyler Travis, Logan Ladd, Justin Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearer Jacob Howard.
