George William Pickett, 60, of Whitwell, Tennessee was born January 4, 1951 to the late James R.B. Pickett and Mae Alma Harris.

He passed away January 27, 2011 at Grandview Medical Center. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant. He attended Northeast Alabama State Junior College and began his long career in Pipefitting at the Local Union 43. Mr. Pickett was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local Union 43 Retirees'.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ernestine Pickett of Jasper, Tennessee. He leaves four children to cherish his memories, Steven Robinson of Las Vegas, Nevada, James Pickett of Whitwell, Tennessee, Katie Walker of South Pittsburg, Tennessee and Mae Pickett of Jasper, Tennessee; five Grandchildren, Jade Remmel, Jaylen Pickett, Jordan Pickett, Halle and Nicholas Robinson; two daughters-in-law, Deana Pickett and Lindy Robinson; four siblings, James (& Carol) Sutton, Samuel (& Ramona) Pickett, Emma (& Paul) Gott, Anna (& Michael Roberts); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; two very special friends, Jackie Walker of South Pittsburg, Tennessee and Betty Jo McFarland of Whitwell, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg at 2pm Central time on Saturday, February 5, 2011.

The family will receive friends for visitation from 11am until service time on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
