Glenn Edward Payne, 76, of Orme, TN died Sunday, April 12, 2009 in a Chattanooga hospital. The son of the late Riley Thomas Payne and Elsie Allison Payne, he was a fiddle player and retired truck driver who loved hunting, fishing, and bluegrass music. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Alvin Payne and one sister, Dorothy Payne Parker.
He is survived by sons, Gary E. (Dolores) Payne of Johns Island, SC, Glenn Terry Payne of South Pittsburg, TN and Clay Payne of Guild, TN; daughters, Reva Gail (Danny) Hibbs of South Pittsburg, Teresa (Rusty) Franklin of Rossville, GA; former wife and mother of his children, Mary Louise Payne of Lookout Valley, TN.He also leaves behind, his loving and long-time companion, Delaura "Dee" Campbell; seven grandchildren, Dana Hibbs, Glenna Stone, Chad Hibbs, Gary Riley Payne, Matt Franklin, Josh Franklin, Chris Payne; four great-grandchildren, Jake Stone, Jared Stone, Jace Stone, and Baby Callie Hibbs.
Graveside funeral services will be held at the Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball at 3:30pm CDT on Wednesday, April 15 with Minister Danny Rader officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Tuesday from 5-8 and Wednesday from1-3 pm CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
