Mrs. Goldie Merciers Grimes, 101, of Whiteside, TN died Thursday, September 20, 2007 in a local nursing home.The daughter of the late Bob and Sally Mason Merciers, she was a lifelong resident of the Whiteside area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Thomas Grimes; children, William "Tom" Grimes, "Jo" McDaniel, Billie Jean Grimes and Paul Grimes; sisters, Glennie Smedley, Myrtle Lee, Essie Prince, Bessie Moats, Ella Mae Hallers and Pauline Fults; and brother, Frank Merciers; grandsons, Eddie McDaniel and Jimmy McDaniel.She is survived by her daughter, Sally Louise Grimes of Whiteside; sister, Bertha Moore of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; 7 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1 PM CDT on Sunday, September 23, 2007. Interment will be in Hooker Cemetery in Hooker, GA.The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21, from 5-9 PM CDT and on Saturday from 12 Noon - 9 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper.Pallbearers will be David Grimes, Sr., David Grimes, Jr., Larry Houser, Frank Coates, Kevin Coates, Earl Keef.
