Hannah Rebekah Newton, 18, of South Pittsburg, TN died Wednesday, July 29, 2009.
The younger daughter of John and Carol Newton, Hannah was a 2009 graduate of South Pittsburg High School where she was active in sports and school activities; she was enrolled at Tennessee Technological University for the fall semester. "A true ray of sunshine," she was a member of Kimball Church of Christ and was employed as a park ranger at Russell Cave.
She is also survived by her sister, Amy Newton of South Pittsburg; paternal grandparents, Bill and Betty Newton of South Pittsburg; maternal grandfather, Jim (Helen) Costello of Franklin, TN; uncles, Tim (Karen) Costello of Franklin and Mike (Dawn) Costello of Columbia, TN; aunt, Anita (Alan) Raulston of South Pittsburg; several cousins and other relatives.
Hannah was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Jean Costello.
A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Friday, July 31, 2009 at Kimball Church of Christ with Billy Watkins officiating.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg from 5pm - 9pm on Thursday.
