Harlan "Fat" Lewis, 75, of Jasper, TN died Sunday, July 26, 2009 in a local hospital.
The son of the late Dave and Edna Lewis, he retired from Sequachee Valley Electric Cooperative after 37 years of service and was currently serving on their Board of Directors. He was also actively involved in athletics in the Sequatchie Valley throughout his life. Mr. Lewis was also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Brandi Johnson; sisters, Lona Lee Goforth, Mildred Wilkerson and Jennie Totten; brothers, Harold, David, Charles, Robert and John Lewis.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patsy Hornsby Lewis; daughters, Lynn (Tommy) Richmond and Lisa (Kelly) McBryde; grandsons, Heath (April) Thacker, Garrett McBryde, Lucas McBryde and Colton Thacker; sisters, Willena "Topsy" Dillard and Wanda Rash; brothers, Bill, Pete and Steve Lewis.
A memorial service will be held at 6 PM CST on Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper with Reverend David Clay officiating.
Today's (Wednesday, July 29, 2009) place of visitation and service has changed. Instead of RFH in Jasper, the family will receive friends at FBC in Jasper at 108 W. Third from 4pm until service time at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Colton Thacker College Fund, c/o Citizens Tri-County Bank, 4765 Main Street, Jasper, TN 37347.
