October 26, 1930 – June 20, 2023
Harm John Henning, 92, of Jasper, TN, passed away peacefully and went home to be with the Lord and his wife Novella on Monday, June 20, 2023.
Harm was preceded in death by his parents, William Harm Henning and Johana Henning, brother. John Henning; sisters, Hilda Burns and Margaret Bruns.
Survivors include his sister, Helene Strater and great nieces of Urbana, Ill, and several nieces and nephews in Tennessee.
Harm served as Corporal in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Harm then worked at the Coca-Cola plant when it was in South Pittsburg. He also worked at the South Pittsburg hospital in various roles from ambulance service manager and maintenance. Then retired after 32 years of service, when it became Grandview. He also worked as a security Guard at the old and new Chattanooga State campus in Kimball till he retired. During the 80's, he served in the South Pittsburg Fire Department for 23 years with 9 years as Chief and was also, an auxiliary police officer for South Pittsburg.
Harm was a 46-year member of Marion Lodge #515.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. (CDT) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN with Pastor Dennis Kilgore officiating.
The Sequatchie Valley Veterans Honor Guard will conduct full military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Henning will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens with his wife Novella.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. (CDT) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.
Pallbearers will be South Pittsburg Fireman, Corey Comstock and Josh Chance; Kimball Fireman, Jerry Don Case and Butch Brown; Signal Mountain Fireman, Matthew Wildman and Robert Clark.
