Mr. Herbert "Duper" Bates, 68, of Tullahoma, formerly of South Pittsburg died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in a Tullahoma Hospital.The son of the late John Arthur and Leta Ruby Ables Bates, he worked for Paul's Food Market in South Pittsburg for many years and was a member of Holly Avenue United Methodist Church. He was also preceded in death by his brother, John Henry Bates.He is survived by sisters, Martha Ida Love of Chattanooga, Nancy Carol Alloway of Chickamauga, GA and Mary Jim DeKnoblough of Pegram, TN; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11:00am CDT, Friday, May 12 with Rev. Dennie Humphries officiating. Interment in Cumberland View Cemetery.The family will receive friends Thursday, May 11 from 6-9 PM , CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
