Herman Bivins Mr. Herman Bivins, 85, of the Sweedens Cove Community in South Pittsburg, TN died Tuesday, September 23, 2008 in a Chattanooga hospital.
He was a 44 year employee of Signal Mountain Cement and was preceded in death by his wife, Pearl Bivins. He is survived by his children, Virginia (Larry) Owens, Edna (Meredith "Jr.") Owens, Miles (Helen) Bivins, Charlene (Issiah) Cherry, Herman (Rose) Bivins, Jr., Gloria (Willie) Johnson, Debra (Jock) Sanders and Denise (Alfonzo) Townsend; 26 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 2 PM CDT with Reverends Miles Bivins, Larry Owens and John Morris officiating. Interment will be in McWilliams Cemetery in Victoria. Visitation will be at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
