Hilda Ann Blevins Olinger, 79, of Long Island, AL passed away peacefully on Monday, February 20, 2023 .

Born March 7, 1943, Hilda was a dedicated, lifetime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, New Hope, TN.

She was a much sought after hair stylist during her 25 year career, but being a mother and grandmother brought the most joy to her life.

Hilda was well known for her talent for sewing quilts and growing beautiful flower gardens.

Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, William (Bill) Hiram Blevins, Jr. and Mattie Christine Henderson Blevins; grandparents, James Samuel and Matilda Jane Peoples Henderson, William Hiram Blevins and Millie Edith Blevins.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, John Kenneth Olinger of Long Island, AL, her children; Kimberly Olinger (Quinton) Choate, of New Hope, Tn., Kenny (Kim) Olinger of New Hope, TN,  Robbie (Lisa) Olinger, of Long Island, AL. grandchildren; Emily (Jacob) Frady, of Pikeville, TN,  Caleb (Lisa Shae) Choate of New Hope, Tn, Kendal Olinger and Jonathon Olinger of Savannah, GA, Lauren Olinger of Nashville, TN, Will Olinger and Joshua Olinger of Long Island, AL; step-grandchildren; Scott Moore, Tony Moore Marenic, Michael Moore (deceased); great-grandchildren; Lucy Ann, Millie Kate, Quinn Frady of Pikeville, TN, Judson Olinger of Savannah, GA, Colter Jeremiah Choate due July 2023; Step-great-grandchildren, Gavin  and Garrett Marenic.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.

Mrs. Olinger will be laid to rest at the New Hope Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. (CST) and on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (CST) prior to the funeral service in the chapel.

Pallbearers are Caleb Choate, Jonathon Olinger, Will Olinger, Josh Olinger, Keith King,  Tracy Smith and Curtis Blevins.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the New Hope Cemetery Fund, 13229 County Road 91, Bryant , Al 35958.
