Hiram Jackson "Jack" Wooten, 87, of Guild, TN passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. His earthly struggles are over, and he is happily fishing a new heavenly creekbank.
Jack retired from DuPont after a 31-year career, prior to which he served 2 years in the United States Army. Jack loved being outdoors, and his passion was fishing at Nickajack Lake, where he was the self-proclaimed "best fisherman around." Other hobbies were daily crosswords, birding, and watching the night sky.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Stephen Wooten and Vashti Peavy Wooten; All of his siblings: James Wooten, Frank Wooten, Tommie Lou Wooten Griffith, and Steve Wooten.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Gibson Wooten, daughters Cynthia Wooten Kennemore (Malcolm) of Harrison and Crystal Wooten Officer (Brian) of Cleveland; grandchildren Tyler Kennemore, Evan Officer, and Emily Officer.
The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice of Chattanooga West Team, and his compassionate personal caregivers: Tammy Dodson and Pat Durham.
