Obituary

Herbert Hoover "Peanut" Collett, 80, of East Ridge, TN died Thursday, April 14, 2011 in a Chattanooga healthcare facility.

The son of the late William Lee and Ada Henrietta Hicks Collett, he was of the Baptist faith. Hoover was an outgoing, caring and hardworking person who liked serving others. In his youth, he enjoyed taking part in the Roller Derby. During the late 1960s he served as a Tennessee State Trooper and later worked for many years with Mayfield Dairy Farms as a delivery driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Donna Collett of Bridgeport, AL and Beth Britton of Henagar, AL; sister, Novella Kemp of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Kassidy Kindred, Tristan McBryar and Skyler Britton; special friends, Mike Prichard and Joyce & James Culbertson all of Chattanooga; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 2pm Central time. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Bridgeport.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, April 16th from 11am until service time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
