Hother Thomas "H.T." Hobbs, 86, of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of service, craftsmanship, and unwavering love for his family.
A proud veteran of the United States Navy, H.T. continued his dedication to service through his careers with the U.S. Postal Service and later the Marion County Justice Center. Known for his skilled hands and creative spirit, he was a gifted woodworker and artist, who brought beauty and care into everything he made.
H.T. was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings and leaves behind a family who deeply cherished him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Hobbs; children, Tommy (Jennie) Hobbs, of Sevierville, TN; George Stephens, Jr., Jan Stephens, and Susan (David) Guess, of South Pittsburg, TN; sister, Edna Johnston; brother, Bobby Hobbs of Chattanooga, TN.
He was a proud grandfather to Tyler (Libbie) Hobbs, Raven Hobbs, B.J. (Courtney) Rogers, Andrew Rogers, Bailey (Chris) Motes, Makenzie Stephens, Trent Guess and Presley Guess, bonus grandfather to Jessica (Kevin) Stinnett, Percious (Brian) Cochren, Gavin Liechty and Garrett Liechty and a loving great-grandfather to Mikala Hobbs, Kaleb Hobbs, Abby Rogers, Winter Motes, Ensley Reitenbaugh, Ellie Reitenbaugh, Noah Owenby and Tyson Williams and Grayson Bufkin. His presence, humor, and steady guidance will be deeply missed by them all.
The family would like to thank Karen Tetter, whose care and love meant so much to him and the family, and to Hearth Hospice for the remarkable care and support they provided.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery located at 1200 Bailey Ave, Chattanooga Tennessee on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at 12:30 p.m. (EDT) with Pastor Brian Tetter officiating.
Friends and family are invited to gather for visitation on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (CDT) at Rogers Funeral Home South Pittsburg Chapel
Pallbearers will be Tyler Hobbs, Jerry Don Case, Johnny Marshall, Kenneth Guess, Addison Davis, and Carson Davis.
H.T. Hobbs lived a life rooted in service, love, and quiet strength. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
