Howard E. (Gene) Gothard, Jr. 70, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 18, 2020.

He was member of  Long Island Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Howard E. Gothard, Sr., his mother, Olla C. Gothard, his paternal grandparents, James A. and Frances Gothard and his maternal grandparents Russell and Cora Case, his sister Betty (Crystal) Parham and his brother George E. Thomas and several aunts and uncles.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Holly (Jimmy) Naylor, New Port Richey, Fl.,  son, Brent (Kristian) Gothard, Jasper, TN;  grandchildren, Cadin Naylor, and Connor Naylor, New Port Richey, FL.  Kaitlyn Gothard and Ella Gothard, Jasper, TN;  sister, Ruby (Charles Mayo), Kimball, TN;  brother, Robert E. (Sandra) Gothard, Bryant, AL,  niece, Shawnna Jones, Orlando, FL;  nephew, Stephen Parham, Fort Oglethorpe, GA;  aunt, Susie (Dick) Ivey, Arab, AL, several cousins and a host of friends.

Visitation will be private due to the pandemic.

A graveside service will be held at the Rocky Springs Cemetery in Bridgeport, AL. on  Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at 2:00 pm with Pastor, David Marona officiating. Everyone is welcome to attend the graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a memorial contribution be made to Long Island Baptist Church.
