Inez Richardson Killian of South Pittsburg, TN, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at a medical facility in Chattanooga. She was 88.
She was born Christine Inez Richardson on April 29, 1927 in Waterloo, Alabama to William Wiley Richardson and Winnie Lee Baugh Richardson. Her family moved to South Pittsburg in 1934. She worked at several knitting mills, was an accomplished seamstress owning and operating Yap's Thrift Shop and was in the property rental business for several decades.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herman B. "Yap" Killian of South Pittsburg, a sister, Anna Lee Richardson Narramore of Tampa, Florida and a brother, John J. "John D" Richardson of Winter Haven, Florida.
She is survived by one daughter, Mary Faye Killian (Gary) Payne of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; three sons, Bill (Donna) Killian of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Mike (Donna) Killian of South Pittsburg, and Randall (Lora) Killian of Jasper, Tennessee; grandchildren, Shelley Payne, Chad (Jill) Payne both of South Pittsburg, Lindsey (Brian) Batchelor of Nightdale, North Carolina, Andy (Shelley) Killian of Signal Mountain, Tennessee, Jenny (Brandon) Gray of Stevenson, Alabama, Sergei Killian, Anna Killian, Ava Killian, Michael Killian and Chasity Steinwinter all of South Pittsburg; 11 great-grandchildren; one sister, Opal Richardson Carroll of Columbia, Missouri; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 2-4pm Central time on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
A memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4pm Central time on Wednesday, December 16, 2015.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to your favorite charity.
