J.A. "Jack" Seebacher, 83, followed his wife and soulmate, Mary Anne "Dixie" Robertson, through the Western Door in January 2022, completing his earthly cycle.

During his life, he earned the appellations of Sergeant, Major, Mayor, Professor, Reverend, the Honorable, Corporate Manager, Commander and Community Leader. But none were more important than "Beloved Husband."

He was a decorated Vietnam veteran earning a Bronze Star and Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and several U.S. awards for unit valor. He also received multiple non-combat honors, including the Meritorious Service Medal, the Joint Service Commendation Medal. and the Air Force Commendation Medal.

An avid sportsman, he enjoyed motorcycling, boxing, fencing, karate, scuba diving, hunting, competitive shooting, skiing and automotive sports. He visited 50 U.S. states, 57 countries, six continents and treasured his one perfect love, Dixie, more than anything else.

Woo-ee! What a ride.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he is survived by five children, Sandy Schubert (Pennsylvania); Tammy Silvers (Georgia); Ellen Seebacher (Massachusetts); Chris Seebacher (Georgia) and Erika Seebacher (Rota in the Northern Mariana Islands); four sisters, Barb Zandier (Pennsylvania), Judi Heenan (Pennsylvania), Mimi Gula (South Carolina) and Noreen Seebacher Smith (South Carolina); eight grandchildren; and 17 nieces and nephews.

He will be cremated and interred next to Dixie in their plot in Kent, Alabama. There will be no services or visitation. — written by Jack Seebacher
