Jack R. White, 59, of Dayton, TN, died Friday, March 13, 2015 in a local hospital.


A native of South Pittsburg, TN, Jack was a graduate of The Baylor School in Chattanooga and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity in Knoxville, TN. He operated a successful small business in Dayton - Outback Jack's Landscaping.


Jack was a longtime member and Past-President of the Dayton Rotary Club. He had been honored as a Paul Harris Fellow and was a major donor to the Paul Harris Society. He was also a Past-President of the Dayton Chamber of Commerce, a past Board Member of the Rhea County United Way, a member of Main Street Dayton, Rhea Employers Association, and the Rhea Economic & Tourism Council. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts of America and volunteered for 18 years with the Tennessee Strawberry Festival.


He was preceded in death by his mother, Marguerite Robinson White.


He is survived by his father, Dr. R. B. "Bob" White of South Pittsburg, TN; brother, Robert B. White, Jr. of Noblesville, IN; nephew, R. Barrett White, III of Hoover, AL; dear friend, Laura Cantrell; cousins, The Prospere Family of Natchez, MS and The Robinson Family of Dayton, TN; and a host friends.


Funeral services will be conducted from Holly Avenue United Methodist Church in South Pittsburg, TN at 11:00 am Central time on Monday, March 16, 2015 with Rev. Michael Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 pm Eastern time at Spivey Cemetery on Blythe Ferry Road in Dayton, TN.


The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday, March 15th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, TN.
