Obituary

James Franklin Hawk, 67, of South Pittsburg passed away Friday morning, February 20, 2009 at Vanderbilt Hospital.
He was a lifelong resident of South Pittsburg and a member of the Church of Christ. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and a member of the DAV, VFW and American Legion Post 62 and served as an adjutant. He retired from Greyhound Bus lines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Anna Laura Birdwell Hawk; brother, William Rogers (Colleen) Hawk; sister, Margie Hawk (Jerome) Weathers and niece, Patricia Hawk.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hawk and her children, Beth Minter of Nashville, John (Shannon) Minter and Matthew (Tammy) Minter of Jasper; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild. He also had one niece, Emma Laura Hawk Lacy and several great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 2 PM CST with Minister Jim Warren officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will gather with friends for visitation on Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 4-8 PM CST at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
