Obituary

James Earl "Red" Webb, 86, of South Pittsburg, TN, died in a Chattanooga hospital on Wednesday, October 19, 2011.

Son of the late Forrester Porter and Lou Emma Arnold Webb, Red was among the 1945 graduating class of Bridgeport High School in Bridgeport, AL, lived in South Pittsburg most of his life, attended MTSU, was a member of the Kimball Baptist Church and was a retired Microfilm Records Technician at TVA. He served the US Navy in WWII, having achieved the rank of 3rd Class Damage Control, was an Honor Member Nominee of Company 184-Master of Arms, was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge 543 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite and Alhambra Shrine and was a former member of the Lions Club. Mr. Webb was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jewell Chance Webb; and two sisters, Jean Hayes and Joyce Coffman.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann "Bobbie" Granert Webb; son, James E. "Jim" Jr. (Beth) Webb all of South Pittsburg; granddaughter, Ashley (Aaron) Thomas of Jasper, TN; special niece, Betty S. Wilkerson and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Kimball Baptist Church in Kimball, TN at 2:00 PM Central Time on Friday, October 21, 2011, officiated by Rev. Troy Luttrell. Mr. Webb's body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, TN.

The visitation will be from 5:00PM - 8:00PM Central Time on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
