Obituary

James Y. "Shorty" Taylor, 89, of South Pittsburg, TN, died at his home on Sunday, April 15, 2012.
The son of the late Harbin and Julia Minnie Madarius Taylor, he was the former owner of Volunteer Machine Shop, had worked for many years as a tool and die maker at Revere in Scottsboro, AL, and had worked moving mobile homes. He loved his gardening and raising okra.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Danny Ray Taylor and Sammy Lee Taylor, three sisters and seven brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Taylor of South Pittsburg, three daughters, Suzanne Badger and Darlene (Bobby) Akins, both of Nashville, and Judy Taylor of Kimball; 2 sons, Jimmy (Valerie) Taylor of Kimball, and Dickie (Debby) Taylor of Nashville; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm Tuesday, April 17, 2012, at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 2:00pm to 9:00pm Monday at the funeral home.
