Janet Miller Hampton, 65, of South Pittsburg, TN died Thursday, April 9, 2015 at her home following an extended illness.
The daughter of the late Russell Willis Miller, she was an accountant with TVA for many years. She also worked for Carter-Wilson-Hewgley Insurance Company and First Volunteer Insurance.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg, she was a former member of the South Pittsburg Jaycees, a volunteer with the National Cornbread Festival since its inception, and a member of the South Pittsburg Ladies Club.
Janet was a hero to all kinds of animals. She nursed them and returned them to nature. She had an avid love of all kinds of sports from her youth into her later years.
She is survived by her husband, George Hampton, of South Pittsburg, her mother, Verna Miller of South Pittsburg, two children, Jenny Hampton Frame of Smyrna, TN, Chris Hampton of Oak Ridge, TN, brother, Larry (Peggy) McDonald of Knoxville, TN, sister, Cheryl (Joe) Galloway of Lookout Valley, TN, brothers-in-law, Scott Hampton, Jr. of Whitwell, TN, Tom (Cindy) Hampton of South Pittsburg and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 10, from 3:00 to 8:00pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 1:00pm Central at First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg. Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
