Janie McElroy

Janie Lou McElroy, of Jasper, formerly of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 13, 2018.

Born on October 12, 1931, Janie was the daughter of the late Herman and Lilly Fobbus.

She spent her life loving, working and supporting her family in any venture they decided to pursue. Janie enjoyed a 46-year career in the property managing business, moving to Jasper following retirement to be closer to her family.

In addition to her parents, her husband Ralph B. McElroy, and brother Lowell Fobbus, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Angie McElroy of Jasper, Tennessee; grandchildren, Danny McElroy of High Point, Georgia; David (Pam) McElroy of South Pittsburg, Tennessee; Tatia (Rodney) Rankin of Jasper, Tennessee; Chad Layne and Lacey (Monty) Ridge, all of Jasper, Tennessee; several great and great-great-grandchildren; as well as siblings, Don Fobbus of Rainsville, Alabama and Thelma Shores of Dawson, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service to commemorate her life will be conducted from the Jasper Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 11:30 am CDT, Monday, July 16, 2018.

Interment will follow the ceremony at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 15, 2018, from 4:00-8:00 pm CDT and Monday, July 16, 2018, from 10:30-11:30 am CDT at the funeral home.
