Obituary

Jere Lee Carter Brewer, 82, of Scottsboro, AL died Saturday, October 8, 2011 in a Huntsville hospital.

Born and raised in Richard City, Tennessee, she resided in Scottsboro, Alabama where she was a member of First Baptist Church. Jere was a volunteer at Highland Medical Center, a master gardener, loved to cook for family and friends and was a beautiful artist. She was also a retired employee of Cranford X-Ray in Houston, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Lofton and Lee Oma Lewis Carter, her husband, William Hugh Brewer and sister, Jennie Ruth Carter.

Survivors include her daughter, Pam (Mike) Fink of Kona, Hawaii; sisters, Evelyn Carter of South Pittsburg, Joan Carter Plummer of Scottsboro, AL, Jamie Schaatt of Richmond, TX and Billie Irish Carter Burrows of Bridgeport, AL; brother, Dr. J.L. Carter, Jr. of Athens, TN; two grandsons, Ian and Ruskin Fink of Kona, Hawaii; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 2pm Central time at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, TN.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, October 12th from 5-9pm Central time at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.
