Jere Payne, 90, of Kimball, TN died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home.

The son of the late Harvey Coleman and Vera Creek Payne, he was preceded in death by his wife, Coleen Lovelady Payne and two brothers, Don Payne and John William Payne. He was an active member of Kimball Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Sunday School Director, and member of the choir. He was a US Navy Veteran and had worked as the Sales Manager at Valley Tire and Supply for over 40 years.

He is survived by two sons, Jere Bill Payne and Roger Payne; sister, Sara P. Vinson; nieces and nephews, Don (Mitzi) Payne, Sally (Randy) Forrester, Rob (Melinda) Payne, Beth (Mike) Allen, Mike (Karen) Vinson, John Payne, Wendell Payne, Paul (Brenda) Payne, and Karen Ehrbar.

Funeral services will be held at Kimball Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, with Rev. David Hoschar and Rev. Troy Luttrell, officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends for visitation at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Central Time, and at the church on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
