Obituary

Jerry W. Case, 101, of South Pittsburg, TN passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday morning, September 8, 2022.

Jerry was a member of Richard City Baptist Church for 70 years. While there he also served as Deacon for 40 years and was a Sunday School teacher. He loved his church and church family and treasured the times he was able to be there in his later years.

Jerry was a veteran of the U.S Navy and served during WW II on a ship called the Talamaanca from 1942-45.  He retired from Penn Dixie Cement Plant in 1982 after 30 years of service and later raised cattle as a hobby. He also loved working in his yard and going to Pirate football games.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Wesley Daniel Case and Leatha Margaret Smith Case, his wife of 63 years Mary Katherine Case, two sons Gary William Case and Kenneth Lee Case.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Ellis, James, Milton, N.L. and Kenneth Case.

Survivors include daughters- in- law, Mary Jo Case and Connie Case; grandchildren Christopher (Teri) Case, Tyler Case, Erin (Blake) Hymer, Laura Jane (Stephen) Lepley and Jimmy Boyett; several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022, at 11:30 am (CST) in the chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg, TN with Pastor Aaron Cagle officiating.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m.  to 11:30 a.m. (CST) prior to the service in the funeral home chapel.

Jerry will be laid to rest with his wife Mary Katherine Case at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Neil Bennett, Billy Berryhill, Eddie Berryhill, Chris Case, Tristan Case and Fred Dye.

The family would like to thank Hearth Hospice and all his caregivers for the wonderful care that was given to him in the last couple of years of his life. There were none better than these lovely women.
