Mr. Jerry Wayne Phillips, 65, of Kimball, TN died Saturday, September 22, 2007 at his home.The son of the late Jerry Manuel and Gladys Gray Phillips, he was a graduate of Tennessee Technological University and a longtime member of the South Pittsburg First Baptist Church where he was currently serving as Treasurer. He was a local business owner and a member of the South Pittsburg Rotary Club, where he was a Past-President and Paul Harris Fellow. He was a retired Treasurer for Pittsburg Knitting Mills and a former employee of Sequatchie Concrete. A member of the Marion County School Board from 1979 to 1994, he was also a former Lions Club member. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Hickey Phillips.He is survived by his sons, Butch (Linda) Maynor of Kimball and Chip (Brenda) Maynor of South Pittsburg; four grandchildren, Haleigh, Will, Tabitha and Jackson Maynor and Robby and Chad Brashier; great-grandchild, Aidyn Grissom; brothers, Sonny Phillips of Jeffersonville, GA and Danny Phillips of Kimball; brother-in-law, Doyle (Ann) Hickey of South Pittsburg; nieces and nephews, Patrick Phillips of Atlanta, Donya Lancaster of Watertown, Brian Hickey of South Pittsburg, Keily Curtis of Jasper, Leslie Hickey of Chattanooga, Rickey & Jamie Smith of Michigan and Carrie Moats of Kimball; several great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg First Baptist Church on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 2 PM CDT with Reverend Charlie Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 23 from 6-9 PM CDT and Monday, September 24 from 11-9 PM CDT at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg.The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Gayle Phillips Kitchen Fund at First Baptist Church in South Pittsburg.
