Mr. Jessie Newton "Bill" Peoples died in a Chattanooga Hospital on Tuesday, May 11, 2010.
The son of the late Jefferson Davis and Violet Morrison Peoples, he was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. He was a former member of Marion Natural Gas Company and retired from South Pittsburg Volunteer Fire Department; he was an auxiliary policeman for many years and was also a former fireman with the Tennessee Department of Forestry.
Survivors include his wife, Opal Peoples of South Pittsburg; daughter, Paula Peoples (Jason) Dykes of Jasper; sisters, Maina Pellam of Victoria, TN, Mary (Bobby) Rich of Kodak, TN; brother, Herman (Betty) Peoples of Chickamauga, GA; granddaughters, Whitney Coffman and Hannah Coffman, both of Jasper, TN and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home on Friday, May 14, 2010 at 2PM Central Time. The interment will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper.
Mr. Peoples' visitation will be at Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Thursday, May 13, 2010 from 5PM - 9PM, Central time.
