Jim "Hoody" Dunwoody, 75, of South Pittsburg, TN died Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in a Chattanooga hospital.
The son of the late Samuel and Frances Annie Rowe Dunwoody, he was a 1959 graduate of South Pittsburg High School, and retired in 2014 from Lodge Manufacturing. He was an avid fan of the UT Volunteers and the South Pittsburg Pirates, and a member of the South Pittsburg Pirates Quarterback Club. He will be remembered for his love for his community and his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Ann Wilkinson and one brother, Samuel Aiken Dunwoody, Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carolyn Dunwoody; son, Sean (Anslea) Dunwoody of Chattanooga, Tennessee; daughter, Kellie (Justin) McCampbell of Ooltewah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Katelyn McCampbell, Will Dunwoody and Jacob McCampbell; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted from the South Pittsburg Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. central time on Sunday, November 12, 2017 with Rev. Brad Bridgman, officiating. Interment will be at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. central time at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation of TN, 209 10th Avenue South, Suite 123, Nashville, TN 37203.
