Joe Edward Murray, 77, of South Pittsburg, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at his home.A lifelong resident of Marion County, he was the son of the late Walter David and Madge Coffelt Murray, and had retired from the Tennessee Department of Transportation after more than 40 years as a heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ruth Argo Murray; five sisters, Katheryn Case, Sue Stewart, Mary Alice Murray, Lou Ella Murray, and Lillie Turner; six brothers, Charles, Howard, Marvin, Ernest, John Walter, and Hubert Murray.He is survived by two daughters, Arlene (Bobby) Turner and Judy Stone, both of South Pittsburg, sisters Virginia Nelson of Sequatchie, TN, Louise Mayfield, and Ruth Murray and a brother, Raymond Murray, all of South Pittsburg; four grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.Services were conducted from the Chapel of Rogers Funeral Home in South Pittsburg on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 2:00pm, with Minister James S. Warren and Rev. Jeff Nelson officiating. Interment was in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
