John Barnett Edmonds, 86, of Jasper, TN died Friday, April 29, 2011.
Son of the late John Emmett and Estelle Barnette Edmonds, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ellen Moody Edmonds and his sisters, Louise Brewer and Rada Bell Ables. He was a Coast Guard veteran of WWII, a longtime electrician at Sequatchie Handleworks and was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Mr. Edmonds is survived by his daughter, Glenna Joyce (John) Gholston of Sequatchie; son, Mark (Carla) Edmonds of Jasper; grandchildren, Carla (Mark) Griffith of Whitwell, Paul (Windy) Gholston of Dunlap, Chris Edmonds of Jasper, Cailey Edmonds of Jasper; four great-grandchildren, Stephanie Layne, Brandon Layne, of Whitwell, TN and Ruthie Mae Gholston and Laural Jean Gholston of Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper, TN on Tuesday, May 3, at 2:00pm Central Time, officiated by Rev. Wayne Bowman. Interment will be in Lasater Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Rogers Funeral Home in Jasper on Sunday, May 1, from 5-9 pm Central Time, and on Monday May 2, from 12-9 pm Central Time.
